Pip Launches to Great Success

Hi Everyone.

What an amazing month.

On the 22^nd of March we had the official launch of Pip at CERES Harvest festival in Melbourne.  David Holmgren, Ian Lillington and I got up and launched the magazine to the gathered crowd.  Ian Lillington welcomed everyone and introduced David and myself. David Holmgren spoke about the changes that we as middle class consumers need to make to help change the world and how permaculture can guide us and I spoke about how Pip came to be and the amazing journey that we have been on creating the magazine.

David and I shared a stall for the day and we were inundated with people who we’re interested in permaculture and getting involved with the magazine and learning more.

I met so many of the amazing permaculture community in Melbourne, some familiar faces and others I hadn’t met before.  I met a few people from the Murundaka cohousing community in Heidelberg, Greg Foyster showed up, author of Changing Gears, Richard Telford the creator of the permaculture calendar and permaculture principles website, most of the family from Hazeldean Forest Farm who kindly swapped some of their beautiful cider for a couple of copies of the magazine.; Woz from Permaculture Victoria showed up Charlie who filled my table with beautiful apples and fruits and vegeatables.  Not to mention many of the contributors including Matt Jones our cover artist all the way from Bermagui. Erika Hildegard, photographer, John McKenzie author of Permaculture in aid article. There were so many people I will probably only offend people if I go on as I am sure to forgot some of you.

It was such a great day and so good to feel all the permaculture love that is out there.

The following Friday we had a launch at the Bega SCPA Farmers market, which was more of a local thing to share the great magazine with all the people that live in the community and thank everyone who has been involved in bringing it all together. Now three weeks after delivery of the magazines we have pretty much sold out.  They are still available in select newsagents along the east coast, sorry everyone else and select outlets.  www.pipmagazine.com.au/outlets (Due to starting off with a small print run I just sent a small amount through the newsagents and they were only enough to spread through three states.  Next time I will aim to cover the whole country.)
